All newspapers have access to the same stories but will select those that are most appropriate for their target demographic.

The newspaper will make choices about how to represent the events and issues, this may reflect the values, attitudes and beliefs of the newspaper.

The construction of the representation will affect the way in which audiences respond to and interpret the issue or event.
